Joan Kirner Women's and Children's Hospital

When it comes to women’s and children’s health care in Melbourne’s fast-growing western region, it all starts at the new Joan Kirner Women's and Children's Hospital.

Named after Victoria’s first female premier, the late Joan Kirner AC, the new $200 million facility will allow more women to give birth and access children’s services closer to home.

Due to open in May 2019, the hospital will deliver more women's and children's inpatient beds, labour delivery rooms, special care nursery cots, operating theatres and additional clinics. This includes the very first neonatal intensive care cots in the west.
